Today we are going to present you a ClickBank Link Hack which is supported by the ClickBank sales system. It is not actually a hack, because this mechanism is provided by ClickBank. However this opportunity is not well documented and many affiliates don’t know about it.

This ClickBank Link Hack is used when you want to place a product’s payment link right on your own website or in the emails (read carefully the next section) to customers. For example, you don’t like a publisher’s sales page and you’ve created your own copy. This link will redirect a buyer right to the order page.

So, here is a payment link template:
http://ITEM.AFFILIATE_PUBLISHER.pay.clickbank.net/
where:
ITEM is a number 1..500
PUBLISHER is a publisher’s ClickBank ID
AFFILIATE is your ClickBank ID

As you know the publisher may have many items (different products, discounts and so on). Usually a main product is located under the 1st item. Here is an example of the usage of the payment link:
http://1.john123_ipodpsp.pay.clickbank.net/

But! Don’t use it in such simple way! It’s very crucial!

It will work only if a customer has never seen a publisher’s sales page. For example, if you recommend some new product to your prospects.

But if a customer has already been on the publisher’s website via another affiliate’s link you will not receive a commission! And as you know there are lots of such customers.

What to do?

You should use an invisible “iframe” somewhere at the beginning of your own sales page on your website. Here is an HTML for it:

<iframe width="100" height="100"
src="http://AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net/"
style="display:none"></iframe>

Then write some promotional message. And then put the payment link:

<a href="http://ITEM.AFFILIATE_PUBLISHER.pay.clickbank.net/">Click Here To Order Now</a>

That’s it.

If you want to recommend a product via email to your customers, make a simple order page on your website as described just above and publish a link to this page in your emails.

What is your huge advantage?

As was said in the ClickBank Refund Rate blog post, it is always much more easier to promote discounted products. How can you find them?

You can use our free ClickBank Analysis Tool – CBGraph

Let’s look on the product BABDOTCOM.
Switch to the “Items + Refunds” report:
http://cbgraph.com/show-product.php?id=BABDOTCOM#items

You may notice that 1st, 3rd and 4th items are very likely the same product. But the price is various. It is obvious (look on the refund rate) that the main item is 3rd (for $27). 1st item ($19) is probably being used as a discounted one (one time offer, for intimate customers, etc).

And here is your advantage: use 1st item in your promotions. Just imagine: which PPC campaign will be more successful: one that says buy here for $27 or another one for only $19?

If you found a discounted item it is a great opportunity to receive fresh leads. Just place a subscription form on your website and send the payment link after a customer is subscribed to your mailing list.

You may think that such implementation may violate the ClickBank terms of service. It doesn’t. At least for today. But you must check (buy) the discounted item yourself. Because sometimes there may be unprepared item (if a customer will buy such item and complain to ClickBank, you may have some problems).

Hope this blog post was helpful This hack was first seen on this cool video. But be sure to use the “iframe”

One of the most frustrating things when promoting ClickBank products is a Refund of a product. But, you can predetermine a ClickBank Refund Rate for products before you promote them.

Just go to CBGraph.com. Open stats for a product you are interested in. And click on the “Items + Refunds” report:

Let’s look on this example (for MSNCODE):

This vendor has only one item: 1.
You can see its description, payment type, price, earnings and ClickBank refund rate = 0.4%.
This rate means that about 0.4 customers from 100 are asking for the refund (it’s about 4 people from 1000).

But if a vendor has many items (different products, one time offers, discounted items and so on), a column Refund rate will probably have improper value (negative or huge). In this situation it’s impossible to calculate the rate.

However, don’t frustrate:

1. Quite often a vendor per se uses only one item. Go to the sales page and try to find different order options such as upsales, discounts, etc. If there is only one price (for one product), look for it in the “Item + Refunds” report. Refund rate near it will most likely be the actual refund rate.

2. If there are lots of items you can find some discounts. For example take a look on the product 0814975505:

7th item is a 50% discounted ebook!

And there are lots of such discounts for ClickBank products. Just imagine how it’s easier to promote a product with a smaller price! There is a trick. You can actually forward a customer to buy the specified item. Very likely you already know about this trick, however we will describe it soon, stay tuned

Last time we wrote about ClickBank Movers and Shakers. But there is one annoying situation…

Imagine that a product has been just launched and it’s already showing a great performance. Accordingly to the Movers and Shakers you need to wait 7 days to notice the rank difference.

So, what to do to find those explosive products? We developed an algorithm that is based (in almost every case) only on 2 marketplace states: today and yesterday. Algo is watching for radical changes between those states. And the name of this invention is ClickBank Jumpers.

Below you can see gravity graphs of some previous ClickBank Jumpers. Arrows are showing points where you could pick those products to promote:

Will all jumpers grow up? Answer is definitely NO. But there are huge chances that a lot of them will continue to rise.

As an example Earth 4 Energy. It was detected by CBGraph on July, 13 2008, when its gravity was only 10,77!

It’s always a good idea to subscribe to publishers’ newsletter whose products were previously detected as the ClickBank Jumpers. You’ll receive many notifications in the future about releases of their new products. Another good idea is to check publishers’ products and promote only good ones to people

We finish the “How to find the best ClickBank products to promote?” series with this post.

You are always welcome to comment in our blog!
Thanking you,

As a ClickBank affiliate you probably often ask yourself: How can I find those ClickBank products which are gaining their popularity right at this moment? If you knew how to find them you could add some good ones to your affiliate portfolio. Be the first to discover and promote fantastic new products is a clue to successful results from ClickBank affiliate network.

So, what can you do?
You can monitor the ClickBank rank of some product. For example: 7 days ago its rank was 300 in “Business to Business” category. But today its rank is 50. So, just in 7 days the rank was increased by 250 places! Apply the next formula:

You see, ClickBank rank of our product was increased by 500% in only 7 days! This one is excellent to be promoted right now.

Just imagine yourself watching for all ClickBank products, writing down their everyday ranks in different categories, calculating rank deltas and rank changes… Does it sound crazy?

It’s a great time, because we have computers and they can do all these routines on their own and prepare ClickBank Movers and Shakers lists. Our ClickBank Analysis tool can do all that work for you! It provides you with ClickBank Movers and Shakers lists ordered by:

Max. Rank Change (maximum rank change in all categories where the products exists, except “New Products” category)

Max. Rank Delta

Avg. Rank Change

Avg. Rank Delta

Gravity Delta (products here are ordered by their 3-days gravity delta — another way to find ClickBank Movers and Shakers)

Please, draw attention that products are not filtered by their gravity, and there can be a product with a poor gravity level – it should be your decision what ClickBank gravity level is suitable for you.

Today we are going to talk about the meaning and usage of the ClickBank earnings factors: $Earned/sale and %Earned/sale.

1. Definition. As said in the ClickBank’s FAQ:

$Earned/Sale: Average net amount earned per affiliate per referred sale. Note that this is the net earned per actual sale, and so it is impacted by refunds, chargebacks, and sales taxes. Unfunded sales, such as returned checks, do not impact this number.

%Earned/Sale: Average percentage commission earned per affiliate per referred sale. This number should only vary if the publisher has changed their payout percentage over time.

2. A graph of the $Earned/sale changes.

2.1. If a publisher has only one product at his/her account and he/she doesn’t change its price. $Earned/sale graph will give you a clue about a product’s refunds level. If this graph is represented as a straight or almost straight line then the refunds level is low and you can promote such product without big risk. But when you see a prancing $Earned/sale graph (in this case) then you should leave such product, because many people are not satisfied with its quality and they are asking for refunds.

2.2. If a publisher has many products at the same account, or there are some one-time offers, discounts, upsales, etc. In this case $Earned/sale graph will *not* show you the information about refunds, BUT it will show you which product or option is the most desired by customers and will give you a clue about an average net amount you will earn by promoting this publisher’s products.

You can observe a gradual growth or a fall on $Earned/sale graph. It is a normal situation and it usually takes place when the publisher has changed a product’s price or %Earned/sale level.

3. Some hints.

It is always easier to sell/promote cheaper products. Combining with high %Earned/sale level you can find cheap products with great affiliate revenue (even bigger than in more expensive products with low %Earned/sale level).

You can use our ClickBank Search tool to search for products with $Earned/sale level at least $20 and %Earned/sale level at least 60% at the same time:

ClickBank Search form

Also notice that top ClickBank products have really huge %Earned/Sale level. All top 20 CB products for today have at least 60%/sale and mostly 75%/sale.

It was another blog post in the “How to find the best ClickBank products to promote?” series. We hope our info is useful for you.

As was said in our previous post Gravity is the most important ClickBank factor. But other factors may improve your understanding of the product as well.

In our priority list referred is on the second place after gravity, because it shows a level of affiliates’ involvement. And in combination with gravity may give you a sense about competition.

ClickBank Definition: %Referred is a fraction of publisher’s total sales that are referred by affiliates.

You should know:

rising referred means that affiliates are jumping on this product and actively promoting it;

decreasing referred means that affiliates are leaving this product (advice: check one more time if it’s a good product to promote or you should stay away from it).

High levels of referred (> 80) mean there is a huge competition.

Extra-small levels (Referred < 25) mean:

this product has low quality or it’s hard to promote;

or maybe it’s new and there is still low level of competition.

And one more thing you should now. Some publishers are working in such way: they periodically create new products and they ask their subscribers to promote new ones on their release date. You may see it after release: gravity has extra-high value and referred is also huge (even more than 90% instantly). After this pattern, gravity stagnates at that high level and quite often starts to decrease, because promotion activity is mostly stopped. If you are searching for money, it’s a nice opportunity to jump on these products (however it’s risky) almost on their release. At least you may subscribe to publisher’s newsletter and wait until he/she will release new products.

But! (It’s important) Many of such publishers are giving away poor products… So, you should check them before you’ll recommend these products to people.

UPD: Also you may find powerful publishers by using referred in combination with gravity. For example: set gravity >= 50 and referred <= 50%. You’ll find vendors whose products are selling by many affiliates (at least 50) but they are selling more copies than all affiliates together by themselves.

This is another post in our “How to find the best ClickBank products to promote?” series. Stay tuned, we’ll cover earnings factors in our next blog post.

The first question asked by a new ClickBank affiliate is:

Hey, what is ClickBank gravity?

In our opinion gravity is the most important ClickBank factor, because it gives you a feeling of a product’s potential to be sold.

As said in ClickBank’s FAQ gravity is “a number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher’s products”. ClickBank also specifies that “this is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks we add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added”.

How is ClickBank gravity calculated?

But they haven’t told how it is actually calculated.

We found Antone Roundy’s assumptions about calculation of the gravity to seem really correct. So, here are basic points of his thoughts:

Gravity is recalculated everyday;

It is a sum of scores received by individual affiliates who sold at least one copy of the product for last 8 weeks;

Each affiliate may add at most “1” to the product’s gravity;

Each affiliate adds to the today’s gravity:
“1”: if he/she sold at least one copy of this product yesterday;
“0,96”: if last affiliate’s sale was 2 days ago;
3 days ago: 0,96^2 = 0,9216;
4 days ago: 0,96^3 = 0,884736;
n days ago: 0,96^(n-1) (n is not deeper than 8 weeks)

As an example let’s consider a product which is being promoted by two affiliates. We know that first affiliate had sold 3 copies of this product yesterday and 7 copies 2 days ago, but second affiliate had sold only one copy of the product 2 days ago. So, to find today’s value of the gravity we have to add affiliates’ scores. The first affiliate adds “1” (because he sold at least one copy of the product yesterday) and another affiliate adds only “0,96” (his last sale was 2 days ago). And the Gravity = 1 + 0,96 = 1,96.

ClickBank doesn’t give us information about volumes of the sales; however we can assume that some affiliates may sell more than one copy of the product as well.

How to use ClickBank gravity?

In our opinion you should not consider the products with the gravity less than “5” because those are not promoted by many affiliates. It may tell you this product doesn’t have a good sales page or it is not well promoted.

When you see that some product has 5-20 gravity you should check when it was released. If it is a new product you should take a look on it, because it may explode in the near future.

Gravity “20” is a definite proof of great sales page.

When gravity is reaching 20 and you are applying PPC advertising, you may bid on the keywords based on the product’s name (“product’s name” and [product’s name]). Here is the logic of such approach:

keywords based on the product’s name have enormous conversion (sometimes 1 in 10 and even more!);

you are pretending on the extremely targeted search traffic;

you may pick great products right on the start of their growth.

Please use such approach only with the PPC search traffic, don’t use it on the content network.

Gravity “20-100” = These are fine products to promote.
Be sure, such products are being successfully sold and most of them have a qualitative info for customers (low level of returns). They are liquid and at the same time they don’t have a big competition. If you want to have a successful PPC advertising with them you should create a valuable landing page for your customers:

add your own review on the product (be sure you have checked it personally);

attach some bonuses for those customers who will buy through your link (it is crucial because there are a lot of other PPC advertisers and many people are searching for some additional bonuses when they are ready to buy);

you should also add some e-mail subscription (try to build a business and not one-time sales).

Gravity more than 100 = huge competition.
Yea, there is a huge competition. You should not promote such products if you are a novice (if you don’t have enough money for experiments, if you don’t have any subscriber who respects your opinion).
But these products may yield significantly. You must apply all recommendations given above to succeed. You should also invent your personal methods, be unique.

Gravity graphs

Our free ClickBank analysis tool may show you historical values of the product’s gravity. They are represented as a gravity graph. To check this, select any product and open the “Basic Graphs” report.

When the product is gaining the popularity its gravity graph is climbing up. Otherwise when the gravity graph is dropping down the product is losing its popularity. When it stagnates on some level the product has got some temporary sales stability on that level.

There are a lot of factors which have influence on the gravity graphs:

when publisher is decreasing the price the gravity may go up;

when publisher asks his subscribers to promote some product the gravity may jump up;

when affiliates are moving to another same product the gravity may decrease;

when the product was publicly proved to be a scam the gravity may fall down very quickly;

and many, many other factors.

So, sometimes take a look on the gravity graphs for the products you are promoting. Recognize if there are any sharp changes on them. Realize reasons of the changes. And take a proper action.

Homework

We realized that you may want to take some action like homework

Here are some simple tasks if you are interested.

1. Find products with the gravity 20-100 (tip: you may use the CBGraph’s search tool by specifying the “Ranges of factors”).

2. Select any product and look on its gravity graph (Reports: Basic Graphs).

It is the end of our first post in the “How to find the best ClickBank products to promote?” series. We’ll publish information about other ClickBank factors in the nearest days. Stay tuned. Hope you’ll enjoy
